DETAILS

When do I need to be there?

Registration begins at 4pm and goes until 6:45pm at Tierra Fertíl. Our first session will start at 7pm at Tierra Fertíl. You will need to get there prior to 7pm in order to register and dinner will be on your own so please plan to eat your own dinner either before or when you get to Yuma.

What is the weather like?

Yuma, AZ has an average temperature of 90-85 F

The evenings will be cooler but you will be working in the heat of the day. Please keep that in mind. You may want to bring fans, towels, etc that will help you stay cool.

San Luis has an average temperature of 75 F

That does not mean it won't still feel hot. Please plan accordingly.

What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring items that will help you work all day and take notes during the session.

  • Bible, Pen, and Notebook

  • Sunscreen

  • Water Bottle

  • Close-toed shoes

  • Phone Charger

  • Pajamas

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste

  • Any medications you take

  • Money for meals (Friday dinner, Sunday after church)

  • Passport for anyone going to Mexico (must be a physical copy. If you do not have it you not be able to serve with the Mexico projects)

  • Modest Clothing (particularly in Mexico, no short-shorts, etc.)

  • Since we will be in hotels, bedding and towels will be provided, but feel free to bring any additional toiletries you may want/need (like your own shampoo)

  • Additional food if you have a food allergy (we cannot guarantee every church we are working with will be able to provide allergy-safe food)

Please read your email in case you need to bring extra materials. For example: work gloves, closed toed shoes, etc

What will I be doing?

You will be working with local churches to carry out missions projects that can cover a wide variety of types. These projects will be given to you once you arrive in Yuma however you will know beforehand if you are serving in Yuma or Mexico. Because it is Halloween weekend many churches are interested in prepping for fall festivals so you will be working late into the evening on Saturday. Churches will serve you dinner that Saturday.

Please pray through having a heart open to whatever projects you will be assigned. No project is lesser or greater than another and all serve the Lord. Ask God to help keep you from any envy or pride during this weekend.
